First Baptist Church, Holden will offer the American Red Cross Babysitter's Training Course on Saturday, September 11, 2010 from 9 am to 3:30 pm. Anyone age 11 thru 15 is invited to sign up. Register at First Baptist Church,  online form.   Class size is limited to 12 students.  The first 12 to pay will be guaranteed a place in the class. Participant cost is $60 dollars including lunch, $55 if participants choose to bring their own lunch. The full amount needs to be paid before or on September 2nd. You may come to the church office Tues.Wed or Thurs. between 9a.m. and Noon to pay the participant cost.  Please make checks payable to First Baptist Church.

  The course is fun and fast-paced with hands-on activities, exciting video, role-plays and lively discussions. Learn to be the best babysitter on the block. Gain the confidence to make smart decisions and stay safe in any babysitting situation. Participants will learn how to perform basic care for children and infants, choose safe, age-appropriate games and toys, handle bedtime and discipline issues, and identify safety hazards, prevent injuries, and care for common injuries and emergencies.

  Students will also learn how to communicate with parents and find and interview for babysitting jobs. At the Babysitter's Training class, each student will receive excellent material to help you be prepared and  professional for babysitting, mother's helper jobs, or personal readiness to help family and friends.
